Eeny Meeny Miny Moe

I am a prolific dreamer. I write my dreams down or at least I used to but stopped when I reached 80+ pages, typed single-spaced. I mean, dang, that's a lot of crazy to dig through to get to the message, am I right?

When I analyze my dreams, they are always insightful and bring quite a bit of clarity to my daily life, no matter how crazy they seem. I mean, once I dreamt I gave birth in prison! Let me tell you, I woke up scratching my head, but it all made sense when I worked my way through the analysis.

Lately, I have been feeling a bit stuck in my everyday life, not sure what I should be focusing on next. Part of it is due to coming off a Netflix binge on Longmire. My sister had been in town, and we started to watch this series together. When it was over, and I resurfaced into reality, I felt a bit lost. I wasn't able to get back into the groove, so to speak. For someone who thrives on being focused on purpose and passion, well, I can tell you that feeling of being lost totally sucks.

Then yesterday, I woke in the middle of the night, with complete clarity. Before drifting off to sleep, I asked for a dream that would help me see what was next for me. I asked how could I re-engage in the activities that inspire me and move me closer to joy. And, yes, not binge-watching Netflix is a no brainer!!

I found myself suddenly awake in the early hours of the morning, having a conversation in my head, it went like this:

Dream Voice: "Just pick one thing you love to focus on, and you will be submerging yourself back into what you are passionate about."

Me: "But what should I focus on?"

DV: "Just pick something, anything that interests you."

Me: "What, like just randomly?"

DV: "Yes."

Me: "You mean like Eeny Meeny Miny Moe? Grab your passion by the toe?"

DV: "Yes."

Me: "Wow, that's brilliant!"

So full disclosure, I may have had a glass of wine before bed, but it was apparent to me that just picking something to focus on would rev up my engines again. And guess what? It worked!

Life is incredibly busy, and Netflix is terribly entertaining, as is Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. We are bombarded daily with thousands of things to lose ourselves in. It's easy to get pulled off your focus, but picking one thing that you love can get you recentered into what truly matters for you. Your passion. Your purpose. It's as easy as Eeny Meeny Miny Moe!
