Moving Toward Purpose

Today we are going to start our journey of sorting out what our purpose is, what we came into this lifetime to do, and accomplish. I don't know about you, but I have always looked for the magic lever I can pull that will sweep back the curtain and reveal to me what my purpose in life is. Unfortunately, that lever doesn't exist. What does exist is a deep inner knowing that resides within each of us that will point us in the right direction.

That might be very hard for you to believe right now; in fact, you might be saying "horse-hockey" as you read those words, but it's true, and I will help you learn to access this knowing. This deep inner knowing is called Intuition, and it lives in our subconscious mind.

Our conscious mind is like a supercomputer that absorbs facts, figures, and data and spits out logical conclusions based on the data calculated. All good stuff, but the conscious mind can only calculate outcomes based on the data it is fed from our experiences in this lifetime.

Our subconscious mind, on the other hand, has access to an infinite amount of data. Our intuitive mind can gather the information needed from a limitless source called the Universe. Yes, I know, this sounds like crazy talk; however, learning to trust this quiet inner voice is the single most powerful tool you can add to your toolkit.

Tuning into your Intuition and allowing it to guide you on this journey will lead you to amazing places you never knew existed. It takes practice to listen to your Intuition and not be hijacked by your thinking mind.

I am not an expert on Intuition and not even sure how it all works, but I know that it exists and when I choose to follow the guidance I get from this quiet inner voice, I am never disappointed.

So how do you connect with this quiet inner voice? Here is my favorite way to access my Intuition:

I start my day with a Soul Connection practice. This is a daily experience that is best performed right after waking from sleep.

My practice is as simple as a 5-minute meditation that involves some quiet deep breathing, and when relaxed, asking for guidance on a pressing problem or challenge for the day. Saying something like, "What do I need to know about my day?" Or, "What is the best way to handle this situation before me?" You usually won't get an immediate answer, but you might. More often than not, things are slowly revealed to you throughout the day, possibly longer if it is a complex issue.

I recommend keeping a journal of requests and responses. You might be surprised as to what shows up over time.

If you have difficulties with trying to meditate on your own, check out this fabulous website MeditationOasis.com. They have an incredible amount of podcasts (meditations), and my favorite one for accessing Intuition is #37 - Accessing Intuition. Check it out!
